Magneto Airdashes and Samurai Outriders Reveal Marvel Tōkon Fighting Souls Roster and Mechanics
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls hands-on previews reveal Magneto's 8-way airdash and Danger's setup tools alongside the final Samurai Outriders team roster.
Hands-on previews for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls have finally dropped, shedding light on the competitive complexity of Arc System Works’ upcoming 4v4 tag fighter. Between high-level movement options showcased in recent closed-door builds and the official reveal of the final launch team, competitive players are starting to see how the game’s high-speed neutral will play out when it launches on August 6.
Evo Build Previews Reveal Technical Depth
Recent media playtests featuring the upcoming Evo build have exposed some highly anticipated movement options. According to community-reported feedback from games journalists, mobility is front and center.
Magneto reportedly features an 8-way airdash. Playtesters noted that holding up-back (7) or up-forward (9) and hitting the dash macro lets him fly up at sharp angles, allowing for versatile air-to-ground angles that will make anti-airing him a nightmare.
We also got details on Danger. Her kit is shaping up to be one of the most technical in the game. Her ball-setting tools reportedly function similarly to Venom’s pool balls in the Guilty Gear series, providing her with massive screen control. These projectiles can be hit or manipulated to cover different angles.
These movement tools and projectile setups highlight how the tag system works to keep pressure going. Players will need to use active switches and assists to cover recoveries and extend blockstrings.
Roster Locked: The Samurai Outriders
The final base roster team has been officially confirmed as the Samurai Outriders, consisting of Ghost Rider, Deadpool, Blade, and Loki. This brings the base roster to a total of 20 fighters.
Blade and Deadpool are expected to bring heavy weapon-based attacks, while Loki’s inclusion hints at trickster clones and projectile traps. Community members are already speculating on the team’s dialogue, noting that since Iron Man and Deadpool have minor swearing in their trailers, Blade might carry over some of his iconic uncensored lines.
Speaking of Iron Man, Arc System Works also released his official character guide trailer, showcasing his zoning tools and unblockable laser setups. Iron Man relies heavily on keeping opponents at bay, using his flight mode to bait out anti-airs before retaliating with high-damage punishes.
72-Hour Open Beta Dates Confirmed
Players won’t have to wait until August to get their hands on the netcode. Arc System Works has scheduled a 72-hour Open Beta running from July 24 to July 26, 2026.
The beta will be available on PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). It serves as the ultimate server stress test for the developer’s rollback netcode and the 4v4 combat engine before launch.
